One More Thing...

Have you read One More Thing?

LOL!

It's a book for us "ADD" readers.

I love to read, but half the time I am counting the pages to the next chapter and checking the clock to see how long it will take me to read that much and then I end up staring at the words and have no idea what happened...then I lie awake wondering about it, but it's too late to go back and read it over again because 6am is creeping up on my alarm clock (aka: my little). So, in short, it takes me forever to get through a book.

I am just NOW 4 chapters deep into Mockingjay. That book has only been glaring at me from my nightstand for over a year.

enter: One More Thing by B.J. Novack.

It is a collection of fictional short stories ranging from a few sentences to a few pages.

Perfectly perfect for an instant gratification reader like myself!

Once I put the Hunger Games Trilogy to rest, One More Thing is next in line for a position on my nightstand.

Have a Pleasant Weekend!

I know I will... off to Canton Trade Days in search of treasures with my Momma!

Spring Sale-ing

Hoping to score a few of these items to spruce up my spring wardrobe!
They would be perfect for a day of "Sale-ing"!

What is "Sale-ing" you wonder?
Check out Lara Spencer's new book I Brake for Yard Sales and you will soon find out!
I can't wait to grab a copy this weekend!

I am on the hunt for a few "new" furniture pieces for our nursery!

New Year's Resolution Giveaway!

Now that you have popped the bubbly, smooched your lover, and ate your last piece of fudge made by your best friend's Dad... it's time to commit to those 2012 resolutions!

No, not those I vow to eat more veggies and workout everyday resolutions.
You've made those so many times they should be part of your daily routine by now, right!?
Ha!

Resolution #1: Get out of bed sleepy head!
No more snooze button over and over again!
Well, just once is okay, but no more than one!

Resolution #2: Capture the day!
If you don't have instagr.am app, then get it!
I am going to snap a photo everyday and then print my little memories via printstagr.am!

Resolution #3: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
I feel we do a pretty good job at recycling our glass, paper and plastics...
But, I could do more.
No more excessive use of paper towels!
It's such a bad habit of mine.
 Kenny is worse.
We use paper towels for everything!
It's time to make the switch to cloth napkins and terry cleaning towels.

Resolution #4: "Cause I see Sparks Fly whenever you smile!"
I love these little resolutions on  Kate Spade's idiom bangle!
This year I am going to make sparks fly!

Resolution #5: 365 Q&A's!
I gave these fun little journals as gifts and was given one by my sister in law!
Love it!
It's great for writer's block because each day has a question with only a few lines for your answer.
So no need to chronicle your every move with "dear, diary"!
Maybe, just maybe I'll blog about some of the Q's and A's!

and...
I just happen to have one journal left!

I'd love to hear what your New Year's resolutions are!
 Leave me a comment for a chance to win!

I'll announce a winner on Friday Jan 6th!

I'm Thinking About Getting a Tattoo...

JUST KIDDING!!!

Ouch, I am way toooo chicken!

But,
I am excited about one of the year's most anticipated films
{Well, besides Breaking Dawn of course ;)}

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!
Did you read the book?

It's been on my list for months,
but then I had to re-read Breaking Dawn.
{Did you think the movie left out a lot? I do.}

 Then I got sucked into the Hunger Games.
{Ah-Mazing!}
So I am a little behind!

But I fully intend on reading it.

Now, I see myself as a little more preppy and girly than Lisbeth.
{shocker}

But can I just say, I think her dark and urban look is pretty bad @$$!

 H&M has a new collection by Trish Summerville that is just that!

And with H&M's great price points, I'm definitely eyeing that black leather jacket!

What do you think,
is this the new Goth look?

Fun Filled Weekend!

photos via corinne's instagram

My fun filled weekend started off in the wee early Friday morn!

Yes, with Breaking Dawn,
my first midnight showing experience!

But...
Apparently I didn't get the bring-your-own-sleeping-bag memo.
Those who know me, know I don't camp.
{well, I've never really tired}
So, I wouldn't of had one to bring anyways.

My twi-hard companion
{who's team Jacob, btw}
and I arrived at 10:45 thinking it was plenty early.
The lobby was completely empty... score! First in line I thought!

Nope.

More like,
last to arrive so you get the dreaded 3rd row seats.

There were people literally camped out in the theater since 7pm!
{no wonder all of the outlets were occupied with iPhone chargers and the kids had to revert to actual playing cards, wow!}

Ehh, oh well.
Just puts us closer to the, um, action
*wink*

 6am came super quick!
Kenny and I went to the chamber breakfast and then headed to work.
It was a loooong day.

That night I started the Hunger Games!
One word: Hooked!

Saturday I went to the Kroger for the BIG shop.
My first stop is always at the florist.
She had these beautiful yellow tulips 10 for $3.

I hesitated b/c
my tulips always end up looking droopy after a day or so.
Then,
She gave me this little tip:
Poke a small hole through in the stem at the base of the bud with a needle and the tulip will stay nice and erect!

It totally works!

Saturday night my Twilight bestie and I had girly movie night
{again}
But this time with Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Such a cute musical!

Sunday I hosted a Willow House party.
I love entertaining!
There are some great items on sale right now so head on over to Lisa's website.

After the party,
my husband came out of hiding, grazed on the left over food, and we lit the first fire.
I made some hot cocoa with extra mallows
{say it like the Sandlot kid! My favorite scene!}
and watched my girl Taylor sweep the AMAs!
{I loooove her reaction, so sweet!}

How was your weekend?

Now it's time to gear up for Thanksgiving!

P.S. Now that I have joined the iPhone fanatics, can I just say I looove instagram!
{yeah, I know I'm a little late to the party :)}

From Twilight to Hunger Games...

Now that I have finished re-reading Breaking Dawn just in time for the new movie,
{only 4 more days!!!}
it's time to start something new.

I was late coming to the Twilight phenom...
I actually saw the movie a year after it hit the picture show.

And...
I had no idea it was based off a book until the credits.
{yeah, I know, I must have been living under a rock!}

So, I quickly ventured out to my local book store and realized there was more than just one.

Two days later I was back buying the next three.

A twi-hard was born!

Now, with the Hunger Games movie coming out this spring,
I figured it could be next on my reading list!

I want to know what you think of the series?

Will it be bigger than Twilight?
