So, I Hear You're From Boston

I don't know how it started but it seems as though our family and friends think we are obsessed with boston terrier memorabilia.

Yes we love our dog and we take lots of pictures of her...

But we don't have spawn of our own so what else are we supposed to photograph?

each other?
That seems a little vain.

Any who.

It never fails... somewhere in the land of  shredded shiny red and green wrapping paper, invisible tape that goes from carpet to your behind, and crunchy packing peanuts, we always end up with something that displays our love of our dog in shrine form.
Plates, cards, cartoon artwork, etc...

Although it's funny and meant to be,
enough with the Franklin Mint already!

This year if you just gotta get us something with a boston on it lets go a different route...

Like this cute little children's book.
{one of my "sister in laws" spotted this while nursery shopping!}
We have yet to contribute to the clan,
but when we do, I'm sure the little tike would love it!

Hows 'bout something for the actual dog?
It is her birthday today after all!
{Happy big one-one, Veta Dog!}
She loves pillows and would probably get a kick out of this one on her bed.

Or,
you can never go wrong with a good mug.
Starts out black and when a hot drink is poured in,
a magical image appears!
{okay fine, thats borderline crazy dog lady, but I wouldn't use it at work.}

So hopefully this will get you on the right track.
If not,
let's just fore go the boston terrier stocking stuffers and focus on more important things...

like sending our other "sister in law" kitty and clown memorabilia!

she hates kittys and clowns.
So we all send her little packages with our thrift store finds!
Ha!

...wait...

oh!

I guess gag gifts are just the nature of the beast when you have a big trickster family!

Do you have any silly gift giving traditions?

P.S. I say "sister in law" bc it's just easier than saying
"My husband's brother's wife's middle sister" or "My sister in law's little sister."

Gah, see?

Get's confusing since there are so many of us now and we are all so close,
so we all claim the S-I-L!

Just go with it.

Bits and Pieces of My Week

Sent my sister in law flowers from Freesia.
They make the most beautiful creations and are right down the street from my work!

A few co-workers and I toured the newly renovated Hilton Anatole and Renaissance Hotel for a little inspiration.
Soothing infinity pool

I love this detail. So simple and beautiful!

The WOW factor for sure!

A little bit of glitz and glam at the Renaissance

Look at this artwork! All of the famous chairs in one collection.
I have a weakness for chairs!

Great photographs of the decorative center!

My floppy straw hat came in the mail! Can't wait to wear it on the beach in two weeks!

Road trip to Grapeland, Tx to pick up a motorcycle

Veta Dog loves car riding

Wrong turn... end up at a historic mound!

Isn't he handsome?!

Happy dog!

Texas countryside

The bluebonnets are in full bloom!

Just fabulous!

We hope you had a good week!

Rest In Peace, Good Boy

Scout and Max

I am sad to report that my parent's loyal protector passed away yesterday afternoon. Max was adopted shortly after my parents moved to the farm back in 2002 so were are not sure how old he really was. He was a hard worker, great companion, and learned everything he knows from his late big brother Scout. He held the title of #1 Farm Dog with pride and a warm heart and we are very sad he is no longer here with us. We will miss you boy, god speed, and all dogs go to heaven!

P.S. Help us all because the farm is now in Hudson's paws...yikes!
