I've been a little MIA around here lately.
Our Master bedroom and bath remodel has taken over my life, but I love it!!
We move in less than 3 weeks and I am currently getting ready to paint Caroline's new room...
It won't look too much different from what she has now. I will probably do a slightly brighter pink on the walls but other than that we are keeping it the same :)
Okay, so, I didn't want to buy a set of all matchy matchy furniture.
I can't stand that!
I like for each piece to have a uniqueness like this amazing dresser I found at an antique store.
All it needed was new hardware and a fresh coat of paint.
and I made the watch me grow ruler, so easy!!
The artwork in her room also has their own little story.
The black and white photo is my first picture holding her and there are pictures of myself and Kenny with our moms above her crib.
The pink "C" is a funky piece I fell in love with way back before Caroline was born.
My good friend and designer colleague has the same piece at her desk at our old firm and I had to get one.
The print to the left of her dresser is a print of a painting of my grandmother painting done by her art teacher, local TX artist Olin Travis. We won't go into why all I have is the print other than the original painting was sold and it makes me sad.
Then to the right of the mirror is a print from Etsy of an Alice and Wonderland quote that I have always loved,
"Sometimes I believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
The Husband spray painted the Ikea shelf gold and my Mom painted those sweet little flowers.
I didn't put a glider in here because the Husband wanted a la-z-boy for the living room and we figured most of the rocking to sleep and feedings would happen while watching friends in the early am.
We were very much correct, so this chair was moved into her room along with the cloud garden stool and storage ottoman.
I absolutely love her conversion crib!
I got a great deal on it from Pottery Barn and the sides have white caning.
We have since taken her mattress down to the last level and removed the bumper for fear she would use it to climb out but I love the sweet simple scallop bedding :)
The little ballerina painting was done by my niece a few years ago and I kept it because I knew one day it would be perfect for a baby girl's room.
The b/w is a photo of my mom and I <3
I hope you enjoyed Caroline's room and would you believe I did it all for under $2000?!!
Literally, everything in there... including the nails to hang art!
Now off to see everyone else's kid's rooms!
Thanks Momfessionals for hosting!
