Little acts of kindness make a BIG difference.
I'm sure Kenny will be glad to hear that I have made it a habit in parking far far away from the congestion of cars so not to get door dings.
Aside from avoiding dents and getting a little more cardio into my daily workout routine, parking out there is frankly a big pain in the you know what when you have to cart your cart back to the storefront drop off.
But, I don't want to be "that" gal who leaves it all the way out in Egypt and drive the employees of Super Target crazy, so I suck it up and make the trip back to the cart stack.
Back in the day, I remember going to the Kroger with my Mom and the bagger would help you out to your car, unload the goods, and take your cart back for you and graciously accept a tip. Apparently that job doesn't exist anymore.
One day, a lovely lady was parked 2 spaces down from me (she probably had the same door ding lecture as I) and once we were finished unloading our endless bags of groceries, she started to approach me. She was your typical Saturday afternoon shopper. Still in her yoga gear, big sunglasses to hide that fact she just wanted one day without make up, and bright pink sneakers. I felt like I was looking in a mirror, haha!
And then... she offered to take my cart back! How nice is that?
Since then I thought it would make a great Monthly Rx!
Perform a simple act of kindness this month, you'll be surprised how it catches on.
Not sure what to do?
Here's some ideas...
Drop a coin in an expired parking meter.
Pay the pass through airport toll for the car behind you.
Help a Parent with a baby stroller up the stairs or simply hold the door open.
Help out a single Mom by mowing her lawn.
Send a hand written note to a friend just because.
