Boiling Pot of Chili

There is nothing better than curling up by a warm fire in your husband's favorite sweater and a great big bowl of homemade chili! Here's how I do it!

Get your spices!
1/4 cup of ground chili peppers, 2 tablespoons of ground cumin and oregano combined, 2 tablespoons of paprika, and 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste.

Dice up 1/2 onion and 1/4 of a green pepper.
Swirl 2 tablespoons of EVOO in a pot and cook the onion and peppers on medium heat until soft.
Add in your chopped garlic (2-3 cloves) last because you don't want it to burn

Brown up 1/2 lb ground turkey in a separate pan. I like to add 1/2 lb cubed lean stew beef as well.
Once browned and the excess fat is drained, add to the onion and green peppers.
Pour in 16 ounces of your favorite tomato sauce and 16 ounces of water.
Mix in your spices.
Then add 1 can drained red kidney beans and 16 ounces of drained petite diced tomatoes.

Stir all together and let simmer on low for at least 30 minutes so that all of the flavors can fuse together.

Spoon into your favorite chili mug and top with a pinch of shredded cheese. Add red pepper flake for extra heat!
