A Handful of Bits and Pieces From My Week

1. Kenny was out of town most of the week so the dog, cat, and I had to hold down the fort while he was away. The dog switches on the high protective mode when Kenny is gone, which is a good and bad thing. Good thing = she is alert and ready to attack anyone who tries to break in, Bad thing = she is so alert that every little noise that occurs, she has to growl at and wake me up and freak me out!

2. At work we have had a lot of reps and manufactures who stop by to show new products, but this one really caught my attention. Carolyn Ray textiles and wallcoverings are beautiful hand painted custom works of art that are created to your specifications or select one of her patterns. You can choose from luxe silks, textured linens, and delicate rice papers to enhance a room and no piece is ever the same because they are all made by the artist's hand. I can't wait to use this line!

3. It seems the theme of the week has been about pride and bullies. DWTS showcased a fun and colorful performance by Margaret Cho and Louis Vanamstel that clearly emphasized the importance of gay pride. Even though it didn't bring in the votes needs to save Margaret, I really enjoyed the routine and the message it brought. There has been a lot of media coverage about the recent tragedy of a gay student's suicide and the handful of other's lives that have been lost due to bullying. It is just so sad that people feel the need to make other's lives so miserable just for their own enjoyment. I really hope we can all step up and put a stop to it.

4. The Cycle Center of Denton customer appreciate event was a great success, and we want to thank everyone who came out! Don't forget the sale is still going on through tomorrow with great deals on parts and accessories.

5. My new favorite nursery is Under the Sun in Richardson. One of my friends/co-worker works there on the weekends and he helped me pick out the perfect Halloween pumpkins! I have passed by the shop numerous times but never stopped in until today and it is so charming with a great selection of flowers, plants, and yard decor.

Pleasantly Yours,
Pretty in Pink Tights
